- The best comes standard
Patented parts designed to handle the specific demands of waste oil. A heat exchanger that’s easy to clean and impossible to beat. Carefully engineered systems, performing at their best. It’s all part of the package with EnergyLogic.
(1) Wet Floor Based Heat ExchangerWet floor means the entire heat exchanger is surrounded by water. This ensures even heating and elimination of hot spots which fatigue the welds in a boiler leading to premature failure. Wet based designs are the most robust for long term applications. | ![]() |
![]() | (2) Integrated Air CompressorAll of our waste oil furnaces come with a built-in air compressor. That means you don’t have to worry about installing additional airlines, having the capacity to run your tools and used oil furnace at the same time, have the compressor available 24/7 to run your heater and, finally, no worries about having wet shop air enter your waste oil burner and creating light-off issues. Our small but powerful air compressor is built to last and is field serviceable. |
(3) Patented Accutemp PreheaterBy heating the oil to a precise temperature before it sprays into the flame, our patented preheater creates the best possible conditions for combustion. In other words, it keeps your heating equipment running consistently and efficiently. It also does more work with fewer parts, making it easy to disassemble and clean. | ![]() |
![]() | (4) Flame Retention HeadBy holding the flame stable, our patented flame retention head creates a hotter flame for complete fuel combustion. It’s also easy to access for cleaning. |
(5) Swing Open Boiler DoorLoosen a couple nuts and the entire waste oil boiler door swings open with the burner and preheater remaining in place on the door. You now have total access to the main firing chamber and boiler tubes for cleaning. | ![]() |
![]() | (6) Small FootprintThe small footprint saves space and makes installation simpler and more flexible. More heat in a smaller space! |
(7) Removable Rear PanelThe back side of the boiler has an easy-to-remove rear panel, which allows ash to be pushed from the front side of the boiler tubes all the way out the backside of the tubes with a boiler cleaning brush. This convenient feature speeds cleaning and allows you to be back up and running in only moments. | ![]() |
![]() | (8) Easily Integrated Domestic Hot Water CoilOur one-of-a-kind domestic coil can be included with your boiler as a built-in option. This on-board accessory gives you an open hydronic loop in addition to the standard closed loop system. It allows you to use your boiler as a hot water heater for things like wash sinks, restrooms and car washes. The unique design also allows you to heat water straight from the tap, without the risk of oxygenating the vessel. |
(9) Steadyflo Metering Fuel PumpOur Steadyflo metering fuel pump delivers the precise volume of fuel to the burner regardless of viscosity. There are no adjustments ever required as the patented gear set always measures and delivers the precise amount of fuel. That’s why we can reliably burn from 5 to 90 weight oil and pump your used oil fuel anywhere in your facility. | ![]() |

Waste Oil Heater Tanks
Make your EnergyLogic waste oil heater even more effective with our innovative tank configurations.
Tanks
Everything about our used oil storage tanks is designed specifically for used oil, which means they’re engineered to support waste oil heating. For example, our tanks are the only ones with fuel pick up six inches from the base. Because oil rises to the top, this guarantees that your fuel line will never pick up the wrong liquid (such as water or antifreeze). Also, the tanks’ low drains make it easy to eliminate naturally separated liquids. Our used oil storage tanks also include a low-fuel cut off the keeps the furnace from calling for fuel when the tank is empty. The result? Your furnace doesn’t lose prime and you don’t have to deal with the associated nuisances.
500 Gallon Used Oil Storage Tank
When you need to store large amounts of fuel, this is the tank for the job. Our 500 gallon tank offers all the durability of our other models on a bigger scale. It also comes with a double wall.
Emergency Vent Cap
Required by local codes in some states, this safety feature helps keep your tank from reacting in case of a fire. Should high heat cause the oil in your tank to expand, this cap allows air to escape from the tank and relieve that pressure instead of exploding. It fits all tanks 250 gallons and larger and complies with local codes and regulations.
Waste Oil Boiler Parts & Accessories
Make your EnergyLogic waste oil boiler even more effective with a few well-designed accessories.
Combustion and Fuel Delivery: AirScape
Our AirScape (patent pending) captures and purges air from the fuel line before it can reach the burner and become a nuisance. No waste oil heating system is immune from air entering the system as the air can be introduced through the oil, from high vacuum conditions and loose fittings. The AirScape will work with all brands of waste oil furnaces.
Exhaust: Flue Kit
Our flue kits work with any application and can address any need. Best of all, each kit is a complete package so you have everything you need for your unique requirements. Each UL-Listed flue kit includes a firestop, storm collar, (2) double-wall, Class A fuel-rated flue sections, a flue cap, ceiling trim piece and roof attachment kit.
Hydronics and Domestic Hot Water: Domestic Coil
Our one-of-a-kind domestic coil can be included with your boiler as a built-in option.
Hydronics and Domestic Hot Water: Mixing Valve
Cold water suddenly entering a boiler can shock the system, leading to shut-offs and corrosion. Our mixing valve ensures the water going back into your boiler is always at the right temperature. Its heavy-duty, self-contained design is tamper proof and built to last a lifetime.

Programmability: SmartStat
The SmartStat is waste oil heatings only seven-day programmable thermostat with total system monitoring, fuel conservation and intelligence. It is the only device that eliminates guesswork and helps avoid nuisance shutdowns by providing feedback when an operating condition affects furnace performance.

What is the average payback period on an EnergyLogic heater?
It really depends on the weather in your area and on the alternative energy costs. On average, EnergyLogic heaters and boilers pay for themselves over one to two heating season.
What kind of oil can I burn?
- Any oil with a flashpoint of 400 degrees or less
- Up to 90 weight
- Motor oils
- Brake fluid
- Gear lubricants
- Automatic transmission fluid (ATF)
- Industrial oils
- Dirty diesel fuel
- Do not add gasoline, paint thinner, chlorinated solvents or antifreeze to your tank
Can I burn synthetic oil?
Yes – there must be at least a 50/50 mix with diesel, used transmission fluid (ATF), or used oil
Can I burn vegetable oil?
Yes – The vegetable oil must be at least 50 degrees to prevent clogging of the filters. Also, there has to be at lease a 50/50 mix with diesel, used transmission fluid, or used oil.
Is this the same heater that drips oil onto a hot surface?
Nope – this is a purpose designed and built combustion product that uses a fuel oil type burner with patented components to make it the most reliable waste oil burner in the industry.
Does it smell and create black smoke?
No – the exhaust on an EnergyLogic product is as clean as the emissions from a gas powered automobile.
Are Used-Oil furnaces and boilers legal?
Yes – they are approved by the EPA (and other government agencies) and are UL listed.
When using the furnace or boiler, does it produce any byproducts?
Yes – when burning used oil it does produce a very fine ash. This ash is safe to dispose of in normal waste disposal or in the ground like any normal ash.
How much fuel does each unit consume? How many BTU?
Model | Gallons/Hour | BTU |
EL140 Furnace | 1.0 | 140,000 |
EL200 Furnace | 1.4 | 200,000 |
EL350 Furnace | 2.3 | 350,000 |
200B Boiler | 1.4 | 200,000 |
375B Boiler | 2.7 | 375,000 |
500B Boiler | 3.6 | 499,000 |
How much space does each unit heat?
Good question – this really depends on a lot of factors like how high your ceilings are, how well your shop is insulated, do you have open doors (for service) and also on how severe the winter is in your region.
Below is a pretty safe estimate for our furnaces – boilers are more difficult to give a rough estimate for because they are used for many different purposes – just call us and we’ll help you figure out the best model for your application.
- EL150 Furnace will heat approximately 3,500 square feet.
- EL200 Furnace will heat approximately 5,000 square feet
- EL350 Furnace will heat approximately 8,500 square feet
Can I duct the unit?
Yes – on either or both sides, but not from the top or the bottom.
How long can I make the duct?
We recommend keeping the duct under 30 feet in total length.
Can I pump the used oil from an outside tank? Unground tank?
Yes – a special transfer pump must be used and special consideration must be given to distance, temperature, type of oil, and so forth. We can help you with this – just give us a call.
Can I use a paper element filter to screen my oil?
Not recommended – paper filters deteriorate too quickly. A 140 micro stainless steel filter is recommended.
Can I run the flue pipe through the wall?
Yes – but with no more than a 45 degree angle and no more than 10 feet on the angle portion. Also the flue must be at least 4 feet above the highest point on the roof. These are standard heating flue venting standards. We can help you with designing your flue and supply you with the materials to make your furnace run safely and optimally.
How often will I have to clean ash from the furnace/boiler?
Every 1000 hours of operation. This is roughly equivalent to once a year for most installations. EnergyLogic furnaces are the easiest to clean by just removing the drip cap and sweeping the ash out of the heat exchanger – about 30 minutes of work.
